Sources revealed that Naja鈥檃tu entered the bathroom in the female hostel at the Gubi campus of the university to take a morning shower and prepare for her lectures, but was later discovered lying unconscious on the bathroom floor.
Naja鈥檃tu Salisu, a 300-level Computer Science student at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, has passed away.
The young woman was found unconscious after falling in the bathroom on Friday morning.
Sources revealed that Naja鈥檃tu entered the bathroom in the female hostel at the Gubi campus of the university to take a morning shower and prepare for her lectures, but was later discovered lying unconscious on the bathroom floor.
鈥淪he had completed her usual morning routine and brought out the clothes she intended to wear to class, leaving them beside her bed,鈥� explained one of Naja鈥檃tu鈥檚 roommates, who wished to remain anonymous.
Confirming the incident, ATBU spokesperson Zailani Bappa stated that she was rushed to the university鈥檚 clinic for medical attention, but medical personnel were unable to find a vein on her body.
He said Naja鈥檃tu was taken to the Trauma Centre of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by medical doctors.
Bappa added that Naja鈥檃tu had been buried according to Islamic rites and offered prayers for the repose of her soul.
